    Some of my fondest memories include giving tours of the police station to groups like the Boy Scouts, the Cub Scouts, the Girl Scouts, Little League, or local school or day care groups, and making the children junior police officers.     Girl Scouts of Hawaii announced today that the Gannett Foundation has donated $10,000 to help develop a Web site that will let girls, volunteers and the public gain access to information within a safe and secure environment.     If not for family camping excursions and Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, 4-H and similarly focused programs, many kids wouldn't even learn about basic survival skills.
